Senior Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

The opportunity

Our Financial Planning and Analysis team has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, outcomes focused individual with strong analytical skills to join our team as Senior Analyst.

In this role, you will undertake enterprise level financial planning and analysis activities, facilitating financial performance management, informed decision making and provision of strategic insights to Senior and Executive Management and the Icon Water Board. You will also play a key role representing the FP&A function through our upcoming finance transformation, which includes implementation of a new Financial Information System.

A day in the life.

  • Development of financial models and provision of financial analysis to support strategic initiatives
  • Provision of data driven analysis to deliver meaningful insights into business performance and to support recommendations for executive decision making
  • Undertake Icon Water’s top down, bottom up and long-term planning and forecasting across the entire financial portfolio
  • Monitor, analyse and provide commentary on Icon Water’s financial performance and projections against established targets, and identify and provide options to manage financial risks and opportunities
  • Promote governance of the management information framework, architecture, standards and protocols to ensure integrity, consistency and transparency

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting and membership of CPA or CAANZ with at least 10 years post qualification experience
  • Extensive experience in enterprise level financial planning and analysis across income statement profit, capital expenditure, cash flow and balance sheet
  • Demonstrated experience using financial information management systems, budgeting/modelling tools (TM1 or equivalent) and business intelligence and data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI or equivalent)
  • Experience in business performance and Board reporting and developing KPIs and dashboard reporting
  • Experience in financial information management systems implementation, including functional requirements development, detailed design, user acceptance testing and end user report development
  • High level of commercial acumen
